Here’s the thing. I get why people want to talk about whether or not Rick Santorum’s wife had an abortion in her second trimester of pregnancy. Santorum is anti-choice like a motherfucker - he’s not just anti-abortion, he’s anti-birth control. So I really do understand the desire to call him out…
No. No we cannot. We cannot stop talking about this, because it says something more important than the assumption of privacy of a woman who hasn’t even asked us to stop talking about this.
It says the anti-choice movement talks a good game about life, and how fetuses qualify. They even draft laws that support what they talk about being life. But when it comes down to drawing the line about who gets put in the ground, they know damn well what’s life that merits protection and what isn’t. And they’re just enough into controlling women that they’ll keep pushing the same old schpeal even after they’ve lived experiences which directly contradict their experience.
Now, if Karen Santorum comes out and says “please don’t talk about this,” I have some more thinking to do. But I’m not convinced that the privacy of one family of public figures outweighs the harm they intend on everyone else.
I agree. Plus, he is running not his wife.
i’m not entirely sure i agree with this. in any other circumstance, i would agree that this is gross and invasive and...
No. No we cannot. We cannot stop talking...this, because it says something more important...
Yeah. Yeah. EXACTLY this. I was thinking about this the other day. Is his view hypocritical? In my opinion, YES, but...
YES YES YES YES. i’ve been seeing...history bounce around everywhere
